PhotoFusion lenses clear up to twice as fast and darken up to 20% faster than previous self-tinting offered by ZEISS*. They are very clear indoors (92% transparency with antireflective coating) and very dark in sunlight (11% transparency with antireflective coating). PhotoFusion lenses provide 100% protection against UV rays up to 400 nm and excellent color consistency for natural vision. They also retain their selftinting ability for the life of the prescription (2 years).
The innovative PhotoFusion technology is based on patented photoactive molecules that unfold when exposed to UV light, thus darkening the lens and providing UV protection. Combined with award-winning ZEISS lenses, this technology is a significant improvement on the basic principle of photochromic eyeglass lenses.

Photochromic lenses are the tint altering lenses that combine fashion, comfort, durability and performance no other lenses can provide. Within 15 seconds of exposure to sunlight, wearers will notice the difference. All photochromic lenses are anti-glare coating compatible.
Transitions Optical Photochromic Lenses
Indoors or outdoors, day or night, Transitions Lenses create the visual comfort of a special changing tint that lightens and darkens as the light changes. When exposed to UV rays, Transitions Lenses change. The higher the UV, the darker the lenses get. The lower the UV, the lighter the lenses get. Car windows and windshields are already treated to block ultraviolet rays. Patients should consider having a fixed tint or Transitions Performance Lens for driving in very bright sun.
